Finally done!

Gooday!

Wow..this application actually took a lot of my time! Sleepless nights has come to an end, finally. But I must agree, that the three of us did an awesome job and i think that our application is simply beautiful. It turned out to be just like how we planned it to be. Glad that Ms Khoo liked our design when we showed her the sketches! Well now, hopefully she'd like our final outcome!

Well, to start off, I'd like to just explain about what I have done on my part. Basically we all had divided the tasks, and each of us worked on 2 links. I had done half of the Main Ceremony page, together with the Bridal Costume and also the Wedding Music link. The flower designs on the page was our idea. I had also made sure that the Graphical User Interface was interesting here. The navigation is easy and I'd like users to enjoy our application. As for the pictures, I have done some photo manupulation & Editing. For your information, those are pictures which we took ourselves, thanks to our Photography Subject & Our 'Professional' camera! We had gone all out to get those beautiful pictures and believe me, it was hell for us! We had to get permission even to take pictures of little things.

I was also the person in charge of gathering the contents for this interactive Application. I had done some research on Traditional Malay Weddings and found out certain things that was lost in history. However, I managed to gather a lot of information, being a Malay myself...I have many experience attending Malay weddings. I have seen and discovered that even my family practises the culture and traditions of weddings a lot. I believe that this culture will never die and it should never be forgotten. The malays must never forget their roots!...and that,is the main objective of our interactive Application.

Oh yes!I'm pretty sure you saw the interactive page that my fellow groupmate-Nazri did..it looks so pretty! And Its fun too! That's a lot of hard work~!

Anyways, tomorrow's submission and I hope that Ms Khoo will like our final work! And hopefully nothing goes wrong!

Phew!its done!

Hello there,

It's been a while since I've updated the blog. We've been quite busy with all those assignments..my god..they were like burden to us..actually..they were...but thank god everything is done..
I have done my part of the authoring today..just finished it...did some minor touch ups and a twist here and there. Hopefully it turns out nice when everything is compiled together.
I did the intro, the interactive application part and the music player which only plays 1 song...hahaha..and my other team members are working on the other links..there are like 5 links and they both have to finish that by December 21..i think they will because they are good on what their doing there.
Ok then, the essay part;
For the intro, we havent yet decided on whose intro to choose...so i'll leave that topic for now...but i have done an enter page.. now that will be in the application..hurmm..i made the enter page look classy and interesting with all the flowers and twirly-twirly borders coming out of here and there..and some fade in and out effects to make the page look..like it has interactivity..if you get what i mean..and for the interactive application..hurmmm..i dont know where to start..because there's a lot to it which a naked eye can see..=D .. i used some behaviors..to make the henna design go with the flow of the mouse..actually i took that from the internal library..but it still took me a while to put it all together...and make it look like and interactive page..and i used a lot of fade in effects here...and played around with the sprites..to get the right kind of animation..i did a lot things actually but i really dont know how to put them in words..sorry.. and for the player...i used photoshop to create all the buttons and stuff..and inserted behaviors into them..and for all you know..it worked..hehehe..it could be improved but...not now..im too tired to improve..i think that is good enough..better than my expectation actually..=D ...and as you can see...we kept the idea of original design..everything is like so classy and elegant..dont you agree?hehe..i think that is all for now..we'll update some more after my groupmates finishes their work.
Later then.

The Flow Chart

This is our flow chart. We are not so sure whether our flow chart is right or wrong but i think this is the way a flow chart should be..clean and clear. It took us quite a while to think of all the links and what not but we managed to finish it, and we finished our work in style :D

Finalized idea and Proposal

FINALIZED IDEA

Our topic ‘The Traditional Malay Wedding’ has made our research never ending, to find the most suitable layout and something that would suit our theme. We have finally decided to play around with Henna designs for our layout. We were inspired by Henna designs when we did a research on Henna Art. A combination of flowers with curvy lines and a touch of nature will be added in our Interactive Application. Lots of sketches have been done and here, we attach some of the finalized sketches that we have done so far.

THEME COLOUR

We have done some research on colours and as you can see below, these are the studies of colour combination. The usage of colours are very important in an interactive application, and colours brings out the true significance of what the application is all about. We have browsed through quite a number of wedding websites and it seems that most of them use light colours. And therefore, we have planned to use soft colours, like shades of brown and perhaps a pinch of gold here and there to bring out the majestic atmosphere throughout the application. Soft colours brings out a calm and soothing feeling. And the main reason why we chose this range of colours is because it goes well with the design we have come up with.

These are the range of colours we shall be using in our interactive application

We also have done some research on colors and what kind of colors are best in a special occasion. This is the link for the website that we entered to get some info on colors :http://www.worqx.com/color/combinations.htm

FONT

As for fonts, we will be using simple ones. For the Introduction page, the name of our topic-‘ Sekapur Sirih’ will be in cursive font and the rest of the fonts will be Serif style. We want our application to be be easily read by viewers. These are some example of fonts that we might be using :-

INTERACTIVE LINK

The first and far most important thing in our Interactive Application is of course-the Interactive link. We are going to make our interactivity interesting and user-friendly. First of all, our interactivity has to be visible. There are some interactive application or websites where the interactivity is not visible and therefore, its not easy to navigate. When people browse through our Interactive Application, we want to make sure that people enjoy every bit of it and that is why we want to make it as interesting as possible.

What we’re going to do is :-

1) Put a pair of hands on the stage

2) There will be a scroll-down buttons of Henna Design which users are free to pick whatever design they like with just a click of the mouse.

3) Users can then drag the design to the selected part of the hands, and it will automatically appear on the hands.

4) After putting Henna on the two hands, users can print the design directly from their printers to use as reference to put Henna on their hands using real Henna!

Here is the rough idea of how the interactive link is going to look like for reference:
